From Bury Castle

Bury Castle is on the edge of Bodmin Moor, a little to the northeast of the village of Cardinham. Compared to most iron age structures in the area, the almost circular inner ramparts of this one are quite well preserved. But the view is more impressive than the castle.

It was a cold, windy day with only occasional appearances by the sun so I had to wait an hour or so for the light to fall on the village and its church, St Meubred's. I like the contrast with the rather dull and gloomy Cardinham Woods across the middle of the picture.

I used a fairly long lens to get the composition that I wanted, and a high ISO in order to reduce the risk of camera shake in the wind, even with a tripod.
