Mossy tree stump and an avenue of trees
A few days ago the sky was covered with nothing but dull, featureless grey cloud which was not very promising. So I decided to head off to some local woods to see what I could find.

This is one of the shots I was reasonably happy with, taken with the head of the tripod set just a foot or so above the ground.

I wanted the tree stump in the lower third with its lighter side facing into the picture, and with the curving line of trees in the background, carrying the eye further into the shot.

I'm not sure how well the composition worked, but I like the bright green of the moss, set against the brown carpet of fallen leaves.
