Winter dawn at Polperro

We got lucky with the dawn a week or so ago, with some interesting cloud formations lit up by the rising sun. Even so, the picture will not work without a good composition. And the best of the light lasts such a short time that you need to be in place and ready well beforehand.

This shot was very rushed. I knew the colours would fade if I took the time to get to a better position, and I don't usually like to include man-made structures like the railing. But I think the reflections in the lower left corner of the frame more or less save the situation and the overall result is not too bad.
